Join our PHONE ZAP all week long to demand that state and city leaders move quickly to decarcerate, decriminalize, and keep our communities safe.
Are you part of an organization that would like to sign on to this statement and demands? Join our growing coalition by emailing us at carenotcopspdx@gmail.com.
Care Not Cops is moving quickly to demand real safety and resources for our most vulnerable community members, not increased policing and being kept in cages.
It is imperative that the responses to this public health crisis revolve around distributing resources to communities to ensure all needs are met—they can not revolve around criminalization, fining, threat of jail time, or any other form of policing, which also includes surveillance or enforcement by the US military or national guard.
We’ve gathered over 20 Oregon organizations to call for Governor Kate Brown and Multnomah County and City of Portland officials’ immediate adoption of these demands.
